LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE
74th Regular Session
April 1, 1995
TO: Honorable Ken Armbrister, Chair IN RE: Senate BillNo. 1513
Committee on State Affairs By: Cain
Senate
Austin, Texas
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No.
1513 (Relating to certain special stops required of motor
vehicles at railroad crossings.) this office has determined the
following:
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.
The bill would require a driver of a vehicle to stop at a
railroad grade crossing if an approaching train is visible or
various warning signals are engaged. A person convicted of a
violation of the Act would be punished by a fine of not less than
$50 or not more than $200.
No significant fiscal implication to the State or units of local
government is anticipated.
