LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE
74th Regular Session
May 12, 1995
TO: Honorable Ken Armbrister, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No.
Committee on State Affairs 1524,
Senate as amended
Austin, Texas By: Rosson
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No.
1524 (Relating to the composition of a rate class for electric
service.) this office has determined the following:
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal
basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions
of the bill.
The bill would amend the Public Utility Regulatory Act to allow
any electric utility that has an approved separate rate class for
a university, prior to January 1, 1995, and where the Public
Utility Commission has grouped public schools in a separate rate
class, to include any community college in the public school rate
class.
Any additional agency workload that would result from
implementation of the bill would be performed with existing
agency staff.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
