LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE 74th Regular Session May 16, 1995 TO: Honorable David Sibley, Chair IN RE: Senate Bill No. Committee on Economic Development 1670, Senate as engrossed Austin, Texas By: Lucio FROM: John Keel, Director In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Bill No. 1670 (Relating to the regulation of certain amateur boxing events.) this office has determined the following: The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill. The bill would require the Department of Licensing and Regulation to license amateur boxing elimination contestants and promoters. It is assumed that there would be 4 promoters and 300 contestants licensed by the department. The bill would set promoter application fees and promoter license fees not to exceed $1,000. Contestant fees would be set at $150. Fees would be deposited into the general revenue fund. The probable fiscal implication of implementing the provisions of the bill during each of the first five years following passage is estimated as follows: Fiscal Probable Cost Out Probable Revenue Change in Year of General Gain to General Number of State Revenue Fund 001 Revenue Fund 001 Employees from FY 1995 1996 $46,634 $49,000 1.0 1997 44,468 49,000 1.0 1998 44,468 49,000 1.0 1999 44,468 49,000 1.0 2000 44,468 49,000 1.0 Similar annual fiscal implications would continue as long as the provisions of the bill are in effect. No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Source: Department of Licensing and Regulation LBB Staff: JK, LR, RR
