FISCAL NOTE
74th Regular Session
March 1, 1995
TO: Honorable Ken Armbrister, Chair IN RE: Senate Joint
Committee on State Affairs Resolution
Senate No. 29
Austin, Texas By: West, Royce
FROM: John Keel, Director
In response to your request for a Fiscal Note on Senate Joint
Resolution No. 29 (Proposing a constitutional amendment
authorizing the legislature to provide for the issuance of bonds
for the state financing of start-up costs for historically
underutilized businesses.) this office has determined the
following:
The Resolution proposes a constitutional amendment which, if
adopted, would authorize the Legislature to provide for the
issuance of $50,000,000 in general obligation bonds for capital
growth and start-up funds for HUB's. Fiscal implications would
be dependent upon enabling legislation such as SB 382 or similar
legislation.
The cost to the State for publication of the resolution is
$90,000.
No fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
