Amend CSHB 1 on page VI-24 after the appropriations to the
Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission by adding an
appropriately numbered rider to read as follows:
      ___.  CONTINGENT APPROPRIATION FOR HB 1802.  If HB 1802 or
similar legislation is enacted by the 75th Legislature at its
regular session, 1997, and becomes law, an amount equal to 11.8
percent of the fees deposited in the water facilities fund created
by HB 1802 or similar legislation is appropriated to the Texas
Natural Resource Conservation Commission for the state fiscal
biennium beginning September 1, 1997, to pay the operating expenses
of the commission relating to water resources management and
protection as described under Section 15.014(a), Water Code, as
added by HB 1802 or similar legislation.
