Amend HB 43, to add a new Section 2, to read as follows and
renumber subsequent sections accordingly:
      SECTION 2.  Section 601.371 (d), Transportation Code, is
amended to read as follows:
      (d)  Except as provided by Subsection (e), an offense under
this section is a misdemeanor punishable by <:
            (1)> a fine of not less than $100 or more than $750
<$500; and
            (2) confinement in county jail for a term of not less
than 72 hours or more than six months>.
