Amend HB 793 by adding a new SECTION, appropriately numbered,
to read as follows:
      SECTION ____.  Amend Section 30.05, Penal Code, by adding a
new Subsection (e) to read as follows:
      (e)  It is a defense to prosecution under this section if the
charging instrument alleges that the actor received notice in the
manner described by (b)(2)(D) and:
            i.  the actor at the time of the offense suffered from
a disease or defect that made the defendant unable to distinguish
colors; or
            ii.  the actor, in good faith, thought the purple paint
was plum or lavender.
