Amend the Madden amendment to HB 1255 as follows:
      (1)  add the following appropriately numbered section and
renumber sections appropriately:
      SECTION ____.  Subchapter J, Chapter 521, Transportation
Code, is amended by adding Section 521.2051 to read as follows:
      Sec. 521.2051.  DRIVING TEST FOR CERTAIN APPLICANTS.  An
applicant for an original driver's license who has satisfied any
applicable driver education course requirement with a course
conducted by the applicant's parent or legal guardian must
successfully complete an in-the-car driving test administered by
the department before the applicant may be issued an original
driver's license.
