Amend HB 1285 by striking Section 3 of the bill and
substituting the following:
      SECTION 3.  (a)  The changes in law made by this Act to
Chapter 82, Property Code, apply only to:
            (1)  a meeting held on or after January 1, 1998, in
relation to a condominium; and
            (2)  a request made on or after January 1, 1998, to a
condominium owners' association for the time and place of the next
meeting of the board of directors of the association.
      (b)  A meeting held before January 1, 1998, is governed by
the law in effect immediately preceding that date, and the former
law is continued in effect for that purpose.
