Amend CSHB 1856 as follows:
      (1)  In SECTION 4 of the bill, in proposed Section
415.006(a)(5), Government Code (Committee Printing page 5, lines 3
and 4), strike "unless the absence is excused by majority vote of
the commission".
      (2)  In SECTION 5 of the bill, in proposed Section
415.0065(a), Government Code, (Committee Printing page 5, line 20),
insert after the period the following: "If this course is completed
not later than the sixth month after the member's appointment to
the commission, the member is in compliance with this subsection.
