Amend HB 2214 by replacing Section 1 with the following
SECTION 1:
      SECTION 1.  Section 54.545, Education Code, is amended by
amending Subsection (c) to read as follows:
      (c)  Subchapter B and D do not apply to a fee charged under
this section, except to a fee for a correspondence course taken by
a student who would qualify for an exemption from tuition under
Section 54.203 if the correspondence course applies towards the
students' degree plan.  The governing board of an institution of
higher education may grant an exemption provided by Section 54.203
for continuing education courses.
