Amend HB 2297, on page 1, lines 17 through 24, and page 2,
lines 1 through 18 to read as follows:
      Sec. 71.012.  EX OFFICIO MEMBERS.  <(a)>  The ex officio
members are:
            (1)  the chief justice of the supreme court;
            (2)  the presiding judge of the court of criminal
appeals;
            (3)  the chair<man> of the Senate Jurisprudence
Committee;
            (4)  one member of the senate, appointed by the
lieutenant governor <the immediate past chairman of the Senate
Jurisprudence Committee>;
            (5)  the chair<man> of the House Judicial Affairs
<Judiciary> Committee;
            (6)  one member of the house of representatives,
appointed by the speaker of the house <the immediate past chairman
of the House Judiciary Committee>;
            (7)  two justices of the courts of appeals designated
by the chief justice of the supreme court <governor>; <and>
            (8)  two district <presiding> judges <of the
administrative judicial regions> designated by the chief justice of
the supreme court <governor>;
            (9)  two judges of county courts, statutory county, or
statutory probate courts designated by the chief justice of the
supreme court;
            (10)  two justices of the peace designated by the chief
justice of the supreme court; and
            (11)  two municipal court judges designated by the
chief justice of the supreme court.
