Amend HB 2384 as follows:
      (1)  Amend SECTION 1 of the bill, in proposed Section
311.044(d), Health and Safety Code (committee printing, page 1,
lines 25-27), by inserting a new Subdivision (7) to read as follows
and renumbering current Subdivisions (7) and (8) as (8) and (9),
respectively:
            "(7)  consumers;".
      (2)  Add a new SECTION 2 as follows and renumber accordingly:
      SECTION 2.  Subchapter D, Chapter 311, Health and Safety
Code, Section 311.0455 is amended by adding Subsection (d) to read
as follows:
      (d)  For purposes of Subsection (b), "nonprofit hospital"
includes the following if the hospital is not located in a county
with a population under 50,000:
            (1)  a Medicaid disproportionate share hospital; or
            (2)  a public hospital that is owned or operated by a
political subdivision or municipal corporation of the state,
including a hospital district or authority.
      (3)  Add a new SECTION 3 as follows and renumber accordingly:
      SECTION 3.  Section 311.046, Health and Safety Code, is
amended by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:
      (e)  For purposes of this section, "nonprofit hospital"
includes the following if the hospital is not located in a county
with a population under 50,000:
            (1)  a Medicaid disproportionate share hospital; or
            (2)  a public hospital that is owned or operated by a
political subdivision or municipal corporation of the state,
including a hospital district or authority.
