Amend CSSB 1419 in SECTION 1, at the end of proposed Section
51.9245, Education Code, by inserting a new Subsection (c) to read
as follows:
      (c)  This section does not apply in an academic year to
athletic scholarships, grants, or similar financial assistance
described by Subsection (b) that are funded by student fees at an
institution for which the students at a general election held for
that purpose within five years preceding the beginning of the
academic year by majority vote of the students voting in the
election have authorized student fees to be used for that purpose.
The proposition at the election must specify the maximum amount of
fees per student or semester credit hour that may be used for those
scholarships, grants, or similar financial assistance.
