JUDICIAL AFFAIRS
H.B. 3104

Committee Report (Unamended)

BACKGROUND

In previous legislation passed last session, amendments to the Texas
Government Code included the creation of the 385th Judicial District but
failed to authorize the judge of the 385th District Court to appoint a
bailiff and for the bailiff to receive compensation.

PURPOSE

This bill would ensure that the judge of the 385th District Court is
entitled to appoint a bailiff and that the bailiff is entitled to receive
compensation.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any
additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency or
institution.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS
