Committee Report (Unamended)

BACKGROUND

In previous legislation passed last session, amendments to the Texas
Government Code included the creation of the 385th Judicial District but
failed to ensure that the judge of the 385th District Court receive the
same supplemental compensation as the other three district judges in
Midland County.

PURPOSE

This bill would ensure that the judge of the 385th District Court is
entitled to receive the same supplemental compensation as the other three
district judges of Midland County.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any
additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency or
institution.
