SRC-TNM S.B. 327 75(R) BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research CenterS.B. 327 By: Galloway Intergovernmental Relations 2-24-97 As Filed DIGEST Currently, the board of port commissioners for the Port of Port Arthur Navigation District of Jefferson County, Texas, is one of three port commissions in Texas required to meet twice a month. Members of the board of port commissioners have found that one meeting per month will suffice and would like to change the requirements to once a month. A vote by the majority of the board would still allow the board to meet more often. S.B. 327 requires the board of port commissioners to hold meetings at least once a month. PURPOSE As proposed, S.B. 327 outlines provisions regarding the regular meetings of the board of port commissioners of the Port Arthur Navigation District of Jefferson County, Texas.
