DIGEST

Currently, Texas law prohibits a manufacturer or distributor of new motor
vehicles, or a representative of a manufacturer or distributor of new
motor vehicles from operating as a dealer except on a temporary basis.
This bill would provide an exception to this provision to allow such a
manufacturer, distributor, or representative to operate as a motor home
dealer.

PURPOSE

As proposed, S.B. 924 authorizes a manufacturer or distributor of new
motor vehicles, or a representative of a distributor or manufacturer of
new motor vehicles, to operate as a motor home dealer.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, institution, or agency.

manufacturer of new motor vehicles, to operate as a dealer, other than a
motor home dealer, except on a temporary basis and only under certain
circumstances.
