DIGEST

Currently, the University of North Texas is prohibited from raising its
medical services fee beyond $25 for each semester of the regular term and
$12.50 for each six-week or shorter term of its summer session. This bill
would raise those caps to $50 and $25, respectively.

PURPOSE

As proposed, S.B. 926 authorizes the governing board of the University of
North Texas to increase the medical services fees it charges the students
of the university to certain levels.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state
officer, institution, or agency.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

session and not to exceed $25, rather than $12.50, for each six-week or
shorter term of the summer session.
