S.B. 1177

Committee Report (Unamended)

BACKGROUND

Currently, the Secretary of State must publish the Texas Register at least
100 times per year.

PURPOSE

As proposed, S.B. 1177 would require the Secretary of State to publish the
Texas Register at least 52 times per year. This is a change from the
current requirement of 100 times per year.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any
additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency or
institution.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1. Amends Section 2002.013 of the Government Code to require the
Secretary of State's office to publish the Texas Register once a week,
which is a change from the required 100 times per year.

SECTION 2. Emergency clause.
