IMF S.B. 1177 75(R)BILL ANALYSIS STATE AFFAIRS S.B. 1177 By: Nelson 5-9-97 Committee Report (Unamended) BACKGROUND Currently, the Secretary of State must publish the Texas Register at least 100 times per year. PURPOSE As proposed, S.B. 1177 would require the Secretary of State to publish the Texas Register at least 52 times per year. This is a change from the current requirement of 100 times per year. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency or institution. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 2002.013 of the Government Code to require the Secretary of State's office to publish the Texas Register once a week, which is a change from the required 100 times per year. SECTION 2.
