IMF S.B. 1334 75(R) BILL ANALYSIS STATE AFFAIRS S.B. 1334 By: Ellis (Hunter) 5-9-97 Committee Report (Unamended) BACKGROUND Currently, the designated chairman of the governor for a day ceremony and the chairman of the speaker's reunion day ceremony must file a report with the Secretary of State that details the name and address of each contributor to the festivities, the amount and type of contributions, and the amount and purpose of all expenditures. PURPOSE As proposed, S.B. 1334 would require the chairman of the governor for a day and speaker's reunion day ceremonies to file their contributors, contribution, and expenditure reports with the Texas Ethics Commission instead of the Secretary of State. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency or institution.
