DIGEST

Currently, the Bexar Metropolitan Water District is required to get
approval before issuing bonds from the Office of the Attorney General and
the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission. When the district was
created in 1948, the district was required to get approval from the
attorney general's office before issuing bonds. When Texas water laws
were codified, pre-approval of bonds were applied to most water districts,
including the Bexar Metropolitan Water District. This bill will exempt
the district from Sections 49.181 and 49.183, Water Code, to the extent
that the sections apply to the issuance or sale of bonds.
