DIGEST

Currently, the Allens Creek Reservoir Site consists of 9,424 acres in
Austin County, Texas. The Texas Water Plan and the Trans-Texas Program
have identified the site as one of the few sites viable for a reservoir.
Studies indicate that the Allens Creek project will help serve the state's
future water use.

PURPOSE

As proposed, S.C.R. 77 submits the following resolution:

Provides that the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas recommend that if
funding for the state participation program or other programs allowing
state ownership or facilities is approved, the purchase of the Allens
Creek Reservoir site is to be ranked as a high priority by the Texas Water
Development Board.

Provides that a copy of this resolution be prepared for the Texas Water
Development Board.
