1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the sale or lease of superconducting super collider 1-3 property given to a county by the United States Department of 1-4 Energy. 1-5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-6 SECTION 1. Chapter 270, Local Government Code, is amended by 1-7 adding Section 270.008 to read as follows: 1-8 Sec. 270.008. DISPOSAL OF SUPER COLLIDER PROPERTY. (a) If 1-9 the United States Department of Energy returns or gives to any 1-10 county any property that was used or was to be used in connection 1-11 with or by a superconducting super collider high-energy research 1-12 facility, the county may sell, lease, or otherwise dispose of the 1-13 property by a method determined by the commissioners court of the 1-14 county. 1-15 (b) A commissioners court disposing of property under this 1-16 section is not required to comply with any provision of this title, 1-17 including Sections 263.001 and 272.001, requiring a public auction 1-18 or bidding process for the disposal of property. 1-19 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the 1-20 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-21 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-22 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-23 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-24 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 2-1 passage, and it is so enacted. _______________________________ _______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I certify that H.B.
