By Maxey H.B. No. 688 75R2661 SKB-D A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to a report by the Texas Department of Health on 1-3 immunization rates. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. (a) The Texas Department of Health shall 1-6 evaluate current immunization rates of Texas residents and shall 1-7 develop a plan to increase immunization rates of Texas residents. 1-8 The department shall request the assistance of the Texas Medical 1-9 Association in carrying out this section. 1-10 (b) The department shall complete the evaluation and plan 1-11 and shall submit a report to the appropriate standing committee for 1-12 health and human services of each house of the legislature. 1-13 (c) This Act expires when the department submits its report 1-14 to the appropriate standing committees. 1-15 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the 1-16 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-17 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-18 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-19 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-20 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-21 passage, and it is so enacted.
