1-13 (c) A person convicted of an offense under Subtitle C, Title

1-14 7, Transportation Code [the Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on

1-15 Highways (Article 6701d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes)], when the

1-16 offense occurs within a school crossing zone as defined by Section

1-17 541.302 [20L] of that code [Act], shall pay as court costs $20 in

1-18 addition to other taxable court costs. A person convicted of an

1-23 Section 25.093 or 25.094 [4.25], Education Code, shall pay as

1-24 taxable court costs $20 in addition to other taxable court costs.

1-25 The additional court costs under this subsection shall be collected

1-28 SECTION 2. (a) The change in law made by this Act applies

1-29 only to an offense committed on or after the effective date of this

1-36 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 1997.

1-37 SECTION 4. The importance of this legislation and the

1-38 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an

1-41 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
