1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the disbursement of county funds to certain debtors. 1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-4 SECTION 1. Section 154.025, Local Government Code, is 1-5 amended to read as follows: 1-6 Sec. 154.025. DISBURSEMENTS TO PERSONS WITH OUTSTANDING DEBT 1-7 PROHIBITED. If notice of indebtedness has been filed with the 1-8 county auditor and county treasurer evidencing the indebtedness of 1-9 a person to the state, the county, or a salary fund, a warrant may 1-10 not be drawn on a county fund in favor of a person, or an agent or 1-11 assignee of a person, until the person owing the debt is notified 1-12 that the debt is outstanding and the debt is paid. 1-13 SECTION 2. Section 154.045, Local Government Code, is 1-14 amended to read as follows: 1-15 Sec. 154.045. DISBURSEMENTS TO PERSON WITH OUTSTANDING DEBT 1-16 PROHIBITED. If a notice of indebtedness has been filed with the 1-17 county auditor or county treasurer evidencing the indebtedness of a 1-18 person to the state, the county, or a salary fund, a warrant may 1-19 not be drawn on a county fund in favor of the person, or an agent 1-20 or assignee of the person, until the person owing the debt is 1-21 notified that the debt is outstanding and the debt is paid. 1-22 SECTION 3.
