 1-6                            A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

 1-7                                   AN ACT

 1-8     relating to the terms of court of the 42nd District Court.

 1-9           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

1-10           SECTION 1.  Section 24.144(c), Government Code, is amended to

1-11     read as follows:

1-12           (c)  The terms of the 42nd District Court begin:

1-13                 (1)  in Callahan County on the [8th and 22nd Mondays

1-14     after the] first Mondays [Monday] in January and July [on the

1-15     eighth Monday after the first Monday in September];

1-16                 (2)  in Coleman County on the first Mondays in January

1-17     and July; and

1-18                 (3)  in Taylor County on the first Monday in January,

1-19     on the 15th Monday after the first Monday in January, and on the

1-20     first Monday in September.

1-21           SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the

1-22     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an

1-23     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the

1-24     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several

1-25     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,

1-26     and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its

1-27     passage, and it is so enacted.
