No. 2318 1-2 (In the Senate - Received from the House May 5, 1997; 1-3 May 6, 1997, read first time and referred to Committee on State 1-4 Affairs; May 16, 1997, reported favorably by the following vote: 1-5 Yeas 13, Nays 0; May 16, 1997, sent to printer.) 1-6 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-7 AN ACT 1-8 relating to the charge and control of certain state facilities 1-9 located in Kerrville. 1-10 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-11 SECTION 1. Charge and control of the state building and 1-12 grounds located at 125 Lehmann Drive in Kerrville are transferred 1-13 from the Railroad Commission of Texas to the Upper Guadalupe River 1-14 Authority. The Railroad Commission of Texas shall transfer any 1-15 records related to the building and its grounds to the Upper 1-16 Guadalupe River Authority. 1-17 SECTION 2. Nothing herein shall be construed as transferring 1-18 title to the state building nor the land belonging to the permanent 1-19 school fund to the Upper Guadalupe River Authority. 1-20 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 1997. 1-21 SECTION 4. The importance of this legislation and the 1-22 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-23 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-24 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-25 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended. 1-26 * * * * *
