                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

 1-1 AN ACT

1-2 relating to regulation by the Board of Private Investigators and

 1-3 Private Security Agencies.

1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

1-5 SECTION 1. The Private Investigators and Private Security

 1-6 Agencies Act, Article 4413 (29)(bb), Vernon's Annotated Civil

1-7 Statutes, is amended by amending Section 47 to read as follows:

1-8 Sec. 47. A suspended license is subject to expiration and

1-9 shall be renewed as provided in this Act, but such renewal does not

1-10 entitle the licensee, while the license remains suspended and until

1-11 it is reinstated, to engage in the licensed activity, or in any

1-12 other activity or conduct in violation of the order or judgment by

1-13 which the license was suspended except that a licensee may continue

1-14 to perform monitoring of existing alarm contracts or continue to

1-15 contract for the monitoring of existing alarm contracts for thirty

1-16 days following the suspension.

1-17 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the

1-18 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an

1-19 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the

1-20 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several

1-21 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
