1-11                            A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

1-12                                   AN ACT

1-13     relating to the administration of county roads in Panola County.

1-14           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

1-15           SECTION 1.  Chapter 117, Acts of the 50th Legislature,

1-16     Regular Session, 1947, is repealed.

1-17           SECTION 2.  Section 252.101(a), Transportation Code, is

1-18     amended to read as follows:

1-19           (a)  This subchapter does not apply to Angelina, Aransas,

1-20     Blanco, Bowie, Calhoun, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Comal, Dallas, Delta,

1-21     DeWitt, Fayette, Franklin, Galveston, Gillespie, Grayson, Gregg,

1-22     Harris, Harrison, Henderson, Hill, Hopkins, Houston, Jack, Jackson,

1-23     Jasper, Lamar, Lavaca, Limestone, McLennan, Milam, Montgomery,

1-24     Morris, Nacogdoches, Newton, [Panola,] Parker, Rains, Red River,

1-25     Refugio, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Tarrant, Titus,

1-26     Travis, Trinity, Tyler, Upshur, Van Zandt, Victoria, Washington, or

1-27     Wood County.

1-28           SECTION 3.  Section 252.201(a), Transportation Code, is

1-29     amended to read as follows:

1-30           (a)  This subchapter does not apply to Angelina, Aransas,

1-39           SECTION 4.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1997.

1-40           SECTION 5.  The importance of this legislation and the

1-41     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an

1-42     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the

1-43     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several

1-44     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
