No. 3233 75R9344 PB-D A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-1 AN ACT 1-2 relating to the regulation and training of code enforcement 1-3 officers. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Section 6(a), Chapter 796, Acts of the 72nd 1-6 Legislature, Regular Session, 1991 (Article 4447bb, Vernon's Texas 1-7 Civil Statutes), is amended to read as follows: 1-8 (a) To receive a certificate of registration under this Act, 1-9 an applicant must: 1-10 (1) meet the requirements prescribed by this Act and 1-11 by board rule; 1-12 (2) have at least one year of experience in the field 1-13 of code enforcement; 1-14 (3) pass the examination conducted by the department 1-15 or the department's designee; and 1-16 (4) pay the initial application, registration, and 1-17 examination fees. 1-18 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the 1-19 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-20 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-21 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-22 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-23 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-24 passage, and it is so enacted.
