1-1                                   AN ACT

 1-2     relating to the designation of a portion of State Highway 35 as the

 1-3     John B.  Coleman Memorial Highway.

 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

 1-5           SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code,

 1-6     is amended by adding Section 225.035 to read as follows:

 1-7           Sec. 225.035.  JOHN B. COLEMAN MEMORIAL HIGHWAY.  (a)  State

 1-8     Highway 35 in Harris County is designated as the John B. Coleman

 1-9     Memorial Highway.

1-10           (b)  The department shall design and construct memorial

1-11     markers indicating the highway number, the designation as the John

1-12     B. Coleman Memorial Highway, and any other appropriate information.

1-13           (c)  The department shall erect a marker at each end of the

1-14     highway and at appropriate intermediate sites along the highway.

1-15           SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the

1-16     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an

1-17     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the

1-18     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several

1-19     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,

1-20     and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its

1-21     passage, and it is so enacted.
