1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to the transfer, sale, or exchange of real property
1-3 between the General Services Commission and the City of Austin.
1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-5 SECTION 1. Section 2166.052, Government Code, is amended by
1-6 adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
1-7 (c) The commission may enter into a contract with the City
1-8 of Austin to govern the transfer, sale, or exchange of real
1-9 property and interests in real property, including the vacation of
1-10 street rights-of-way, easements, and other interests, as necessary
1-11 or advantageous to both parties. The agreement may provide for the
1-12 transfer, sale, or exchange by one party in favor of the other for
1-13 a reasonable value established by the parties and may provide for a
1-14 transfer, sale, or exchange to be credited against future property
1-15 or interests to be transferred, sold, or exchanged between the
1-16 parties. Section 272.001, Local Government Code, does not apply to
1-17 a transaction governed by this section.
1-18 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the
1-19 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-20 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-21 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-22 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-23 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-24 passage, and it is so enacted.
