1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to the creation of a statutory county court in Burnet
1-3 County.
1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-5 SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 25, Government Code, is
1-6 amended by adding Sections 25.0291 and 25.0292 to read as follows:
1-7 Sec. 25.0291. BURNET COUNTY. Burnet County has one
1-8 statutory county court, the County Court at Law of Burnet County.
1-9 Sec. 25.0292. BURNET COUNTY COURT AT LAW PROVISIONS.
1-10 Section 25.0003(c) does not apply to a county court at law in
1-11 Burnet County.
1-12 SECTION 2. The County Court at Law of Burnet County is
1-13 created and this Act takes effect September 1, 1997.
1-14 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-15 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-16 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-17 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-18 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
