1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to the authority of the Smith County Juvenile Board to
1-3 accept gifts and grants.
1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-5 SECTION 1. Section 152.2181, Human Resources Code, is
1-6 amended by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:
1-7 (e) The board may accept gifts and grants from any private
1-8 or public source to use in maintaining and improving the county's
1-9 juvenile probation services.
1-10 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 1997.
1-11 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-12 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-13 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-14 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-15 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
