No. 12 75R784 SMC-D HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, The issuance of special license plates for use on 1-2 private vehicles is a courtesy extended by the Texas Department of 1-3 Transportation to various officials of Texas state government and 1-4 of the federal government; and 1-5 WHEREAS, To avoid proliferation of this practice and thereby 1-6 prevent undue administrative costs, in 1981 the 67th Legislature, 1-7 Regular Session, adopted Senate Concurrent Resolution 37, which 1-8 specified the officials who are eligible to receive "State 1-9 Official" license plates; and 1-10 WHEREAS, It is appropriate that the legislature expand the 1-11 list of eligible officials to include district attorneys that are 1-12 subject to the professional prosecutor's law, Chapter 46, 1-13 Government Code; now, therefore, be it 1-14 RESOLVED, That the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas 1-15 hereby direct the Texas Department of Transportation to issue 1-16 "State Official" license plates to district attorneys that are 1-17 subject to the professional prosecutor's law, Chapter 46, 1-18 Government Code; and, be it further 1-19 RESOLVED, That the issuance of such special license plates be 1-20 limited to two sets of plates for each official.
