HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

 1-1           WHEREAS, State law requires that a cost-of-living increase in

 1-2     benefits proposed by the Texas Statewide Volunteer Fire Fighters'

 1-3     Retirement Fund board of trustees be approved by the legislature

 1-4     before taking effect; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, Texas volunteer firefighters risk their lives

 1-6     performing a dangerous and vitally important job and deserve a

 1-7     cost-of-living adjustment in their pension benefits to keep pace

 1-8     with inflation; now, therefore, be it

 1-9           RESOLVED, That the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas

1-10     hereby approve the cost-of-living increase in benefits for certain

1-11     retirees proposed by the state board of trustees of the Texas

1-12     Statewide Volunteer Fire Fighters' Retirement Fund; and, be it

1-13     further

1-14           RESOLVED, That the secretary of state forward an official

1-15     copy of this resolution to the chair of the state board of trustees

1-16     of the Texas Statewide Volunteer Fire Fighters' Retirement Fund.
