No. 75 75R5839 JTR-D HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives and Senate are 1-2 proud to welcome the visiting senior class of Redwater High School 1-3 and honor them for their 100 percent participation in the Dads 1-4 Against Drugs in Schools (DADS) program; and 1-5 WHEREAS, These exemplary leaders of tomorrow voluntarily 1-6 submitted to drug testing as part of the DADS initiative, and their 1-7 enthusiastic commitment to securing the involvement of the entire 1-8 class puts them at the forefront of the national crusade against 1-9 drug use; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Designed to awaken young people to the dangerous 1-11 influence of drugs, the DADS program is the brainchild of five 1-12 Redwater fathers: Harold Ayres, William Estes, Ward Martaindale, 1-13 volunteer coordinator Carl Teel, and Superintendent Joe Dan Lee; 1-14 in implementing the program, these dedicated volunteers also drew 1-15 on the experience and leadership of principals DiAnn Bransford, 1-16 Carlos McGregor, and Mickey Spencer; and 1-17 WHEREAS, While the initial impetus for the project came from 1-18 parents and educators, it could not have been implemented without 1-19 the full cooperation and support of the senior class: Latasha 1-20 Alexander, Cheryl Ayres, Timothy Bartholomew, Kristi Brown, Erin 1-21 Burke, Sharon Burleson, Mary Bush, Andrew Clemmons, Mary Collom, 1-22 Shelly Corbell, Kelly Corley, Kristi Couch, Kristy Crowder, Angela 1-23 Cunningham, Tonia Davenport, Chantel Davis, Stephanie Davis, Alicia 1-24 Delaughter, Brandy Donaldson, Jason Fisher, Jennifer Goss, Amy 2-1 Graves, Stephen Hensley, Sarah Hicks, April Higgs, Scott Holliday, 2-2 Aaron Howe, Derek Jester, Travis Jones, Albertina Josey, James 2-3 Knight, Kelly Langley, Brady Leathers, Donny Lee, Lacey Lewis, 2-4 Lindy Lynch, Nicholas Moore, Dustin Odom, Randi Parker, Bruce 2-5 Pilgreen, Paul Quaid, Allison Reynolds, Amanda Rhoden, Clint 2-6 Roberts, Courtney Roberts, Suzanne Robertson, James Robinson, Kelly 2-7 Roy, Jason Rutherford, Heather Schwarck, Porsha Shavers, Shauntell 2-8 Shirley, Angela Smith, William Stephenson, Lisa Steward, Jeremy 2-9 Tedder, Wade Walker, Jason Weatherford, Amanda Wensits, Tracy 2-10 Wharton, Patty White, Kimberly Whitehead, April Williams, and 2-11 Shania Williamson; and 2-12 WHEREAS, The members of the Redwater High School Class of 2-13 1997 have ably demonstrated their willingness to work with their 2-14 teachers and parents for the good of the greater community, and it 2-15 is indeed fitting that these notable young Texans be recognized for 2-16 their efforts at this time; now, therefore, be it 2-17 RESOLVED, That the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas 2-18 hereby commend the members of the 1997 senior class of Redwater 2-19 High School for their participation in the Dads Against Drugs in 2-20 Schools program and extend to them sincere best wishes for 2-21 continued success and happiness in the future; and, be it further 2-22 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-23 prepared for display at Redwater High School as an expression of 2-24 high regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
