HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, State law (Section 2165.256, Government Code) 1-2 specifies those persons eligible for burial in the State Cemetery 1-3 and authorizes the legislature to grant eligibility to other 1-4 persons through the adoption of a concurrent resolution; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Dan Beto, and his wife Donna Beto, have expressed a 1-6 desire to be buried in the State Cemetery, and their request merits 1-7 approval based on Mr. Beto's many years of distinguished service in 1-8 the field of criminal justice; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Mr. Beto's father, George Beto, is already interred 1-10 in the State Cemetery, and his mother has been granted permission 1-11 to be laid to rest there as well; the family's request to be buried 1-12 in a common resting ground is indeed a reasonable one, and the 1-13 family's legacy of service to the State of Texas compels the 1-14 legislature to accommodate them in this matter; now, therefore, be 1-15 it 1-16 RESOLVED, That the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas 1-17 hereby authorize the burial of Dan Beto and Donna Beto in the 1-18 State Cemetery, provided proper application for assignment of 1-19 burial space is made to the General Services Commission as required 1-20 by law; and, be it further 1-21 RESOLVED, That the secretary of state forward an official 1-22 copy of this resolution to the chairman of the General Services 1-23 Commission.
