HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas Legislature is proud to honor Jeanne 1-2 Groff, a respected administrator in the Denison Independent School 1-3 District, for her many outstanding contributions to the field of 1-4 public education; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Mrs. Groff earned both bachelor's and master's 1-6 degrees from Texas Woman's University; deeply committed to her 1-7 chosen field, she has furthered her education with graduate course 1-8 work and is certified in several areas of specialization; and 1-9 WHEREAS, She began her distinguished career as a classroom 1-10 teacher with the Pittsburgh Independent School District from 1961 1-11 to 1963 and went on to teach special education classes in other 1-12 districts, and at the Denton State School, for the next eight 1-13 years; Mrs. Groff then drew on her abundant skills and compassion 1-14 to serve as a counselor, offering wise and thoughtful guidance to 1-15 countless young Texans throughout her 20 years in that position; 1-16 and 1-17 WHEREAS, She has proved to be a skilled administrator as 1-18 well, and since 1991 she has effectively managed a host of 1-19 important responsibilities both as a middle school assistant 1-20 principal and an elementary school principal with the Denison 1-21 Independent School District, and she has become a positive role 1-22 model in many children's lives; and 1-23 WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Groff has enjoyed the 1-24 love and support of her family, which includes her husband, Judge 2-1 Horace Groff, and her four children, Chris Lockridge, Mark 2-2 Lockridge, Tesa Duffey, and Tama Hebert; and 2-3 WHEREAS, Recognized by her colleagues as a dedicated and 2-4 skilled educator, she was recently nominated as the Denison 2-5 Classroom Teachers Association's Elementary Administrator of the 2-6 Year, and this homage is well deserved; Jeanne Groff has set an 2-7 inspiring example of excellence in education, and it is truly a 2-8 pleasure to pay tribute to her on the occasion of her most recent 2-9 honor; now, therefore, be it 2-10 RESOLVED, That the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas 2-11 hereby honor Jeanne Groff for her exceptional commitment to the 2-12 youth of our state and extend to her warmest best wishes for 2-13 continued success and happiness in the future; and, be it further 2-14 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-15 prepared for Mrs. Groff as an expression of high regard by the 2-16 Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
