No. 110 75R7152 WMS-D HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, The 1996 Northwest 45 Junior All-Stars little league 1-2 baseball team has achieved the pinnacle of success by winning the 1-3 Junior World Championship; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Having claimed the United States Little League 1-5 Championship in 1995, this superb group of young athletes swept 1-6 aside all competition during the 1996 campaign en route to earning 1-7 the coveted Junior World Championship crown and finished the season 1-8 with a perfect record of 18 wins and no defeats; and 1-9 WHEREAS, The season's extraordinary achievements were a 1-10 result of total commitment to the team concept by players Brandon 1-11 Bartlett, Michael Cepeda, Chris Conway, Kris DuConge, Kyle Foster, 1-12 Danny Grotte, Josh Hawkins, Matt Lagowski, Adam Marshall, Jessie 1-13 Matlock, Wardell Starling, T-Don Turley, Jeremy Wilson, and Nathan 1-14 Young; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Outstanding leadership and encouragement were 1-16 provided by manager Don Turley and coaches Lynn Foster, Karl 1-17 DuConge, Paul Hershey, and Joe Lagowski, and their efforts played a 1-18 pivotal role in helping the Northwest 45 Junior All-Stars to 1-19 fulfill their championship dream; and 1-20 WHEREAS, These dedicated young men are a source of great 1-21 pride to their families, their friends, and their many supporters 1-22 in the community, and their exceptional athletic accomplishments 1-23 are indeed worthy of special legislative recognition; now, 1-24 therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas 2-2 hereby congratulate the Northwest 45 Junior All-Stars on winning 2-3 the 1996 Junior World Championship and extend to them sincere best 2-4 wishes for continued success in the upcoming season; and, be it 2-5 further 2-6 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-7 prepared for the Northwest 45 Junior All-Stars as an expression of 2-8 high regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
