HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

 1-1           WHEREAS, Friday, March 28, 1997, is Good Friday, a holy day

 1-2     of great meaning throughout the world; and

 1-3           WHEREAS, Churches of various denominations will hold

 1-4     religious services in observance of the day; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, It is proper and desirable that state employees be

 1-6     afforded the opportunity to participate in the religious services

 1-7     and observances of their faith on this occasion; now, therefore, be

 1-8     it

 1-9           RESOLVED by the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas, That

1-10     all state departments and agencies be closed for a half day,

1-11     emergency services excepted, beginning at noon on Friday, March 28,

1-12     1997.
