HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, May 10, 1997, marks the 80th birthday of Thomas 1-2 Patrick Ingram, and this occasion is truly deserving of special 1-3 legislative recognition; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mr. Ingram is the fifth of 1-5 nine children born to Anne and Robert Ingram; he completed his 1-6 bachelor's degree in business administration at The University of 1-7 Texas at Austin in 1941 and went on to earn a law degree from that 1-8 respected institution two years later; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Following his graduation, Mr. Ingram spent the next 1-10 three and a half years serving in the Pacific theater as the 1-11 commanding officer of the 24th C.I.D. in the United States Army; 1-12 following his tour of duty, this patriotic individual relocated to 1-13 Dallas, where he was employed by Lawyers Title Insurance 1-14 Corporation; and 1-15 WHEREAS, In 1949, he moved to Midland, and two years later 1-16 he established Lone Star Abstract & Title Company, which has gone 1-17 on to great success; he is a respected member of the Midland 1-18 community and is involved in many local organizations, including 1-19 the Knights of Columbus; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Mr. Ingram is a former member of the Trinity Towers 1-21 Board of Trustees and has served as director of the Midland County 1-22 Hospital District and as vice chairman of the Midland Memorial 1-23 Foundation Board of Governors; he currently serves on the board of 1-24 the Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Authority, an appointment 2-1 issued by Governor William P. Clements, and his work with the 2-2 Midland Chamber of Commerce has earned him the respect and 2-3 admiration of his peers; and 2-4 WHEREAS, Through nearly 30 years of marriage, Mr. Ingram has 2-5 remained a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Jackie Ingram, 2-6 and his loyalty and generosity as a friend are equally 2-7 inspirational; qualities such as these are often difficult to find 2-8 in the world today, but it is no exaggeration to say that Thomas 2-9 Patrick Ingram truly personifies these admirable traits; now, 2-10 therefore, be it 2-11 RESOLVED, That the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas 2-12 hereby honor Thomas Patrick Ingram on the occasion of his 80th 2-13 birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued 2-14 success and happiness in the future; and, be it further 2-15 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-16 prepared for Mr. Ingram as an expression of high regard by the 2-17 Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
