No. 235 75R13703 WMS-F HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas Association of African American Chambers 1-2 of Commerce has for many years distinguished itself as a respected 1-3 voice for business in the State of Texas; and 1-4 WHEREAS, The work done by the organization has greatly 1-5 benefited the State of Texas through economic and community 1-6 development programs, and the African American Chambers of Commerce 1-7 have unceasingly promoted their communities to help create quality 1-8 growth and development; and 1-9 WHEREAS, The business community, represented by the Texas 1-10 Association of African American Chambers of Commerce, has been a 1-11 driving force in fostering enhanced educational opportunities, 1-12 infrastructure improvements, leadership development, job creation, 1-13 and a positive vision of the future; and 1-14 WHEREAS, This outstanding association works in a cooperative 1-15 spirit with other organizations to achieve economic growth and 1-16 strength throughout the state, and it is appropriate to recognize 1-17 its impressive accomplishments at this time; now, therefore, be it 1-18 RESOLVED, That the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas 1-19 hereby honor the Texas Association of African American Chambers of 1-20 Commerce and its many volunteers for steadfast work in behalf and 1-21 support of the State of Texas, and designate May 5-9, 1997, as 1-22 Chamber of Commerce Week in the State of Texas; and, be it further 1-23 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 1-24 prepared for the Texas Association of African American Chambers of 2-1 Commerce as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of 2-2 Representatives and Senate.
