HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

 1-1           WHEREAS, Ramsay H. Gillman's many years of service to the

 1-2     Houston community have earned him high regard among his peers in

 1-3     the automotive industry; and

 1-4           WHEREAS, The owner, president, and chief executive officer of

 1-5     the Gillman Companies, Mr. Gillman got his first taste of the

 1-6     automobile business when he went to work in the parts department of

 1-7     his father's Pontiac dealership, and in 1967 he became an

 1-8     authorized dealer after attending the General Motors Dealer

 1-9     Management Institute; and

1-10           WHEREAS, Mr. Gillman is a member of the board of directors of

1-11     the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) and was recently

1-12     named president of that organization for 1997; he is also a member

1-13     of the boards of trustees of the Dealers Election Action Committee

1-14     and the NADA Charitable Foundation; and

1-15           WHEREAS, In 1996, this noteworthy individual was presented

1-16     with the American International Automobile Dealers Association's

1-17     All-Star Dealer Award in recognition of his outstanding charitable

1-18     and philanthropic efforts in the Houston area; and

1-19           WHEREAS, Ramsay H. Gillman has demonstrated outstanding

1-20     leadership  in his community and as a member of the automotive

1-21     industry, and the members of this legislature are proud to

1-22     recognize him for his dedication to excellence; now, therefore, be

1-23     it

1-24           RESOLVED, That the 75th Legislature of the State of Texas

 2-1     hereby commend Ramsay H. Gillman for his many achievements in the

 2-2     automotive industry and for his commitment to serving his fellow

 2-3     Houstonians and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued

 2-4     success and happiness in the years to come; and, be it further

 2-5           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-6     prepared for Mr. Gillman as an expression of high regard by the

 2-7     Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
