R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Ethel Shipton is retiring from her position as 1-2 manager of the House Photography Department, and her dedication and 1-3 expertise in this capacity will be sorely missed; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Ms. Shipton began her career with the Texas 1-5 Legislature when she was just 18 years old, and in the 13 years 1-6 that she has been associated with the House of Representatives, she 1-7 has earned the respect and gratitude of her colleagues here for her 1-8 professionalism and integrity; and 1-9 WHEREAS, A house photographer for the 73rd and 74th 1-10 Legislatures, Ms. Shipton is also a talented artist whose works 1-11 have been displayed in showings throughout Texas, as well as Santa 1-12 Fe and Mexico City; she is leaving her position with the Texas 1-13 Legislature to move to San Antonio, where she will undoubtedly 1-14 pursue even more challenging career opportunities; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Ethel Shipton has been an exceptional asset to the 1-16 Texas House of Representatives for many years, and although the 1-17 members of this chamber are reluctant to bid her farewell, it is a 1-18 great pleasure to recognize her for her contributions at this time; 1-19 now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby commend Ethel Shipton for her service as manager 1-22 of the House Photography Department and extend to her warmest best 1-23 wishes for continued success and happiness in all her endeavors; 1-24 and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for her as an expression of highest regard by the Texas 2-3 House of Representatives.
