                                 R E S O L U T I O N

 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor

 1-2     Hila Pepmiller of Plano, who was recently chosen to receive the

 1-3     Molly Gerold Human Rights Award by the Texas Counseling

 1-4     Association; and

 1-5           WHEREAS, The Molly Gerold Human Rights Award is presented to

 1-6     individuals working with underserved populations and is a fitting

 1-7     tribute to Ms. Pepmiller's exceptional efforts as a counselor for

 1-8     cancer patients; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, A cancer survivor herself, Ms. Pepmiller initiated

1-10     one of the area's first support groups for female breast cancer

1-11     patients more than a dozen years ago and continues to devote her

1-12     time, expertise, and energy to the group, which meets twice monthly

1-13     at the Baylor-Richardson Cancer Center; and

1-14           WHEREAS, In addition to her vital work with cancer patients,

1-15     she has also served the needs of her community for 25 years as a

1-16     kindergarten and Title 1 teacher and as a counselor for the Plano

1-17     Independent School District; and

1-18           WHEREAS, Ms. Pepmiller has been a constant source of

1-19     understanding, encouragement, and comfort to the many cancer

1-20     patients who have come to know her, and her outstanding

1-21     achievements in this regard are indeed worthy of special

1-22     legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it

1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas

1-24     Legislature hereby honor Hila Pepmiller on her receipt of the Molly

 2-1     Gerold Human Rights Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for

 2-2     continued success in her laudable endeavors; and, be it further

 2-3           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

 2-4     prepared for Ms. Pepmiller as an expression of highest regard by

 2-5     the Texas House of Representatives.
