R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 the Texas Agricultural Extension Service on the occasion of its 1-3 delegation's visit to the State Capitol on February 11, 1997; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Founded in 1914, the service offers a unique and 1-5 historic partnership among Texas county governments, The Texas A&M 1-6 University System, and the United States Department of Agriculture, 1-7 and it has conducted a wide array of outreach education programs 1-8 that have helped countless Texans to improve their lives, the 1-9 economy, and the environment; and 1-10 WHEREAS, This innovative program serves all 254 counties in 1-11 our state and targets its initiatives to meet each community's 1-12 specific needs; it provides assistance to address such diverse 1-13 concerns as family communications, retirement planning, food 1-14 safety, and physical fitness; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Throughout its proud history, the Extension's many 1-16 dedicated family and consumer sciences agents have done a fine job 1-17 preparing Texans to meet the challenges of the future while also 1-18 enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of Texas 1-19 agriculture, and it gives the members of this chamber great 1-20 pleasure to recognize the Extension for its many contributions; 1-21 now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby honor the Texas Agricultural Extension Service 1-24 for its outstanding contributions to the Lone Star State and extend 2-1 an official welcome to the members of the service's visiting 2-2 delegation; and, be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-4 prepared for the delegation as an expression of high regard by the 2-5 Texas House of Representatives.
