No. 42 75R4280 WMS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Susie Blackmon has served her state and community 1-2 with the utmost diligence and dedication, and her efforts brought 1-3 her well-deserved recognition when she was named the 1996 1-4 Outstanding Employee of the Year by the Texas Department of Human 1-5 Services (TDHS); and 1-6 WHEREAS, Ms. Blackmon is an outstanding secretary with the 1-7 Services to the Aged and Disabled Program in Rusk; her duties 1-8 include serving as chairperson of the TDHS, Region 4 Secretarial 1-9 Advisory Board, and her positive attitude and willingness to 1-10 volunteer for a variety of projects are an inspiration to all those 1-11 who work with her; and 1-12 WHEREAS, She also demonstrates her devotion to her community 1-13 through her active membership in the Cherokee County Extension 1-14 Long-Term Planning Committee and has played an important role in 1-15 developing that organization's many worthy initiatives; and 1-16 WHEREAS, A staunch believer in the value of education, 1-17 Ms. Blackmon supports her local schools by attending Rusk Junior 1-18 High School three times a week to listen to children read; in 1-19 addition, this lovely lady participates in various 4-H functions 1-20 and holds the office of secretary/treasurer for a local Parent 1-21 Teachers Organization; and 1-22 WHEREAS, In light of her remarkable record of service to her 1-23 fellow citizens, it is indeed appropriate that Susie Blackmon be 1-24 given special legislative recognition at this time; now, therefore, 2-1 be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 75th Texas 2-3 Legislature hereby honor Susie Blackmon for her many significant 2-4 contributions to the State of Texas and congratulate her on being 2-5 named the 1996 Texas Department of Human Services Outstanding 2-6 Employee of the Year; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-8 prepared for Ms. Blackmon as an expression of high regard by the 2-9 Texas House of Representatives.
